Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks are already internationally recognised as the best in their field. They play surf rock with a solid, timeless attitude. They could rest on their laurels, but Robert Johnson, the band’s constant frontman, is not satisfied with that. They are not a band riding a wave of success; they have long since chosen a path that moves them forward — one that develops, breaks new ground and perhaps even challenges. You may not like it now, but once you have caught up, you will boast about how you liked the sound of Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks at this particular time. But that doesn’t suit Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks.

The album Box Office Poison is, in many ways, a collaboration between Robert Johnson and bassist Tobias Einestad. Together, they produced the album and wrote almost every song. The result is very good. Perhaps superb. In fact, one might even venture to say that this is a fantastic album!

Not least among these is the title track, ‘Box Office Poison’, which is a gift from the gods to both Radiosporten and every self-respecting rock DJ.
