The band Cantona Gut System is your ticket to a new Dark Age. With their debut album, Yoko: The Best Beatle, Robert Johnson and Johan Skugge take a further step into music history.
You may recognise Robert Johnson and Johan Skugge from Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks. They temporarily shut down the band in style with the masterpiece Morte di Seeburg, a soundtrack to an Italian 1970s thriller (the album was actually music for a film that never happened). With Cantona Gut System, you could argue that Johnson and Skugge took another step into the world of 1980s Italian direct-to-video film music. But the album Yoko: The Best Beatle is also, and above all, a parasite that absorbs the entire history of music.
It breaks things down and creates something new.
The duo debuted on Fanfar! with their one and only album Yoko: The Best Beatle in the spring of 2020. It is available on vinyl and digitally.
The album Yoko: The Best Beatle, was named the best album of 2000 by the Swedish online magazine Mono.
